Blogging + Photos = Photos to Make you think (PTMYT).<\/p>\n
This was before shifts in technology were\u00a0heralded with the iPhone\u2026<\/p>\n
So then it became\u2026<\/p>\n
Blog + Photos + Smartphone = BOOM \u2026you know the \u2018social\u2019 answer\u2026Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter etc.<\/p>\n
And the reason for sharing this?<\/p>\n
Not for how I missed my calling as a social media billionaire\u2026<\/p>\n
Rather, I am not a fan of \u2018icebreakers\u2019.<\/p>\n
However, in many events, for many years, I note how groups have found it energising (or at least cathartic) to a start with this \u2018setting the scene\u2019 exercise:
\n1. In pairs
\n2. What has happened (over the last x years, or in y sector) that has surprised you?
\n3. What was predicted (assumed or widely anticipated) that has not come to pass?
\n4. Shout out some of the most striking (and surprising!) findings
\n5. Capture to screen<\/p>\n
This is a method that works very well in a strategy retreat or scenario workshop.<\/p>\n
And it works well in many team development, service improvement and conflict resolution situations too.<\/p>\n
