But it\u00a0is\u00a0not the primary concern when human material issues are at stake.<\/p>\n<p>EU policies on bio-fuel from palm oil and for the oils used in cooking impact not\u00a0just on the profits of trans-national corporations but also the livelihoods of peasant farmers (see article).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" style=\"margin: 10px;\" title=\"Palm oil\" src=\"http:\/\/www.idenk.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Palm-oil-1024x341.jpg\" alt=\"Palm oil\" width=\"413\" height=\"138\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Complex stuff.\u00a0 Not just about Nestle and Kit Kats.<\/p>\n<p>In Kenya a couple of years ago, the local press also helped me see there are other points of view on:<\/p>\n<p>1) using corn in the US for bio-fuel.
