{"id":1440,"date":"2011-10-20T11:00:16","date_gmt":"2011-10-20T10:00:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.idenk.co.uk\/blog\/?p=1440"},"modified":"2011-10-19T18:29:08","modified_gmt":"2011-10-19T17:29:08","slug":"lessons-from-u2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.idenk.com\/blog\/lessons-from-u2\/","title":{"rendered":"Lessons from&#8230;U2!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have just finished watching a recorded documentary on U2 prior to their Glastonbury performance this year.\u00a0 There were a number of strong themes that I hadn&#8217;t expected \u2013 and that link to ideas around front foot teams!<\/p>\n<p>In 1990 when they went to Berlin to try and re-invent their act, things were hard, but<\/p>\n<p>a) They stuck with it \u2013 risking losing what they had to make the journey to the next phase<\/p>\n<p>b) They were honest with each other &#8211; about their individual as well as shared struggles<\/p>\n<p>c) They cared for each other \u2013 \u201cif one person is unhappy we need to care for them until they are happy again, otherwise we are not, as it says, a band\u201d \u2026\u00a0 we lift the one who is struggling, up\u201d<\/p>\n<p>d) They have been hugely loyal over the years to the wider team of engineers, producers, designers \u2013 giving others a chance to develop and grow, and drawing on their skills too.<\/p>\n<p>Inspiration from an unlikely quarter!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have just finished watching a recorded documentary on U2 prior to their Glastonbury performance this year.\u00a0 There were a number of strong themes that I hadn&#8217;t expected \u2013 and that link to ideas around front foot teams!
