{"id":1521,"date":"2012-01-12T11:00:25","date_gmt":"2012-01-12T11:00:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.idenk.co.uk\/blog\/?p=1521"},"modified":"2012-01-11T16:55:34","modified_gmt":"2012-01-11T16:55:34","slug":"fitzbillies-a-metaphor-from-woe-to-wow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.idenk.com\/blog\/fitzbillies-a-metaphor-from-woe-to-wow\/","title":{"rendered":"Fitzbillies &#8211; a metaphor &#8211; from Woe to Wow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The restaurants are full in London (we see that in our travels, and are told so by taxi drivers too).\u00a0 And even out of London, in January, town is busy. \u00a0In 2007 I recall cycling through the same streets, first week of January \u2013 deserted.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Blue_Monday_(date)\">Blue Monday <\/a>whether you believe in it or not, is looming.\u00a0 However, some don\u2019t seem to need many reasons to be cheerful at this time of woe it seems.<\/p>\n<p>In a separate catering story, Cambridge\u00a0has a much loved cake shop, <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/lifeandstyle\/2011\/nov\/11\/fitzbillies-tim-hayward-cambridge\">Fitzbillies<\/a>, that\u00a0closed a year ago \u2013 it failed financially.\u00a0\u00a0Now after a slight rejig to its offer of drinks and cakes (though not by making it cheaper!!),\u00a0it is vibey and popular again.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>What does this tell us in these interesting economic times?<\/p>\n<p>In consulting it is clearly the case that not everyone or every company is equally affected by the European recession in the same way.\u00a0 And some sectors and locations, even in the UK, are booming.<\/p>\n<p>Can you think of some small and\/or significant changes to help you make 2012 a \u2018wow\u2019 for your business\/organisation\/career?<\/p>\n<p>How can you change your offer \u2013 in subtle ways\u00a0(eg how you run the cake shop) or significant ways (eg getting into the top end restaurant business in our capital city!)?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The restaurants are full in London (we see that in our travels, and are told so by taxi drivers too).\u00a0 And even out of London, in January, town is busy. \u00a0In 2007 I recall cycling through the same streets, first week of January \u2013 deserted.
